TOOT TOOT!!!!!!!! The Fantastically Free Blog Train has left the station folks and this month our theme was Vintage Valentine. Our palette was soft and sure to put you in the mood for good ol' fashioned romance.

This tutorial is of my own creation and any resemblance to any other tuts is purely coincidental. This tutorial is for personal use only, using it for monetary gain is against our TOU's.

Supplies Needed:

~Gimp (any version will do).
 
 ~Times Like These PTU scrapkit by Sweet Cravings Scraps which you can find HERE.

 ~Tube of choice. I used the artwork of Martin Abel, you must have a license to use this art which you can now get HERE.

~Font of choice. I used Surf Safari.

Let's get started!!!!!

1. Open a new layer ( I prefer a large canvas, so I make mine 1050x656). Make your canvas transparent (Layer > Transparency > Color to alpha).

2. Open Frame 1, add drop shadow (Filters > Light & Shadow > Drop Shadow).

3. Open Paper 4 center it behind frame, remove excess paper using a cutting tool or eraser.

4. Open tube, add drop shadow.

5. Open and place the following elements:

Paint Mask
Snow 2
Mailbox
Ribbon 2
Snow Mound
Deer
Dog
Ticket
Candy 2
Snowballs
Cup of Cocoa 1
Cupcake 2

~Some elements may need to be sized down. Using the Scale Tool in your tool box adjust pixels to desired size~

~Add drop shadow to all elements (except Paint Mask & Snow 2)~

6. Merge layers (Image > Merge Visible Layer).

7. Crop image (Image > Autocrop Image).

8. Scale image to desired size (Image > Scale Image).

9. Add copyright info and name.

10. Save as .png

Supplies:
Gimp or program of choice
PTU kit Vintage Girl from A Taggers Scrap 
Tube of choice. I am using the art of verymany. You must have a license to use these tubes. Purchase the one I used at Pics For Design
Template EI#198 from Elegant Inspirations  
Font- Xiomara


  -Open template. Delete credits & all the dotted layers. Image>Scale Image 650x650 px. Image>Canvas Size 700x700 px and click center.
-Let's add papers to the template layers. Make the template layer active (see below). Right click template layer in layer box and choose alpha to selection. Open paper (see below). Right click paper layer in layer box and choose add alpha channel. Select>Invert. Press delete on your keyboard. Select>None. Filters>Light & Shadow>Drop Shadow  2, 2, 5, black, 50. Delete the original template layer. Here are the template layers and which papers I used:
3 Brown Circles- paper 1
3 Cream Circles- paper 4
3 Green Circles- paper 3
3 Blue Circles- paper 11
Cream Circle 1 & 2- paper 9
Blue Circle 1 & 2- paper 8
Green Circle 1 & 2- paper 6
Brown Circle 1 & 2- paper 14
Green Circle 3- paper 5
Cream Circle 3- paper 13
Brown Circle 3- paper 15
Cream Circle 4- paper 10
Blue Circle 3- paper 12
Green Circle 4- paper 16
4 Brown Circles- paper 19
4 Blue Circles- paper 18
4 Green Circles- paper 17
4 Cream Circles- paper 24

-Open tube. Make the top layer. Layer>Scale Layer 50%. Place to left side of tag. Repeat drop shadow. Layer>Duplicate Layer. Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur on default. Change mode to soft light and lower opacity to 65.

-Open frame 8. Make the bottom layer. Select the rotate tool and click canvas. in the angle box put 5. Place center of tag. Repeat drop shadow.

-Open frame 4. Move below tube layer. Scale 27 %. Place on the left small white circle. Select the fuzzy select tool and click inside frame. Select>Grow 4. Open tube. Move below frame. Place in selection. Invert & delete. Select none. Change the mode to value. Add drop shadow of 1, 1, 2, black, 35 to frame. Repeat this 2 more times for the 2 remaining small white circles. Feel free to change the modes of each tube.

Tube of choice. I am using the art of Rainbowise. You must have a license to use these tubes. Purchase the one I used at The PSP Project 
FTU kit Dark Passenger from Gimptastic Scraps
Font- Tipsy Giggles

-File>New 650 x 650 px.

-Open tag back. Layer>Scale Layer 75%. Place center of canvas. Filters>Light & Shadow>Drop Shadow 0, 0, 10, black, 80.

-Open frame 2. Make the top layer. Scale 75%. Place center of tag back. Select the fuzzy select tool. Click inside frame. Select>Grow 5. Open paper 2. Move below frame layer. Layer>Transparency>Add Alpha Channel. Scale 75%. Place in selection. Select>Invert. Press delete on keyboard. Select>None. Add drop shadow of 2, 2, 5, black, 50 to the frame.

-Open tube. Make the top layer. Scale 65%. Place on center of tag. Repeat drop shadow.


-Open deco. Move below paper layer. Scale 75%. Select the rotate tool and click canvas. In the angle box put 90. Place to the right side of tag. Layer>Duplicate Layer. Rotate 180. Place to the left side of tag. Repeat drop shadow on both.

-Open frame 6. Move below tube layer. Scale 50%. Rotate 15. Place to right side of tag. Click inside both parts of frame with magic wand. grow 3. Open paper 3 Move below frame. Add alpha channel. Place in selection. Invert & delete. Open tube. Place in selection. Delete. Change mode to soft light. Repeat drop shadow on frame.

-Open mesh. Make the bottom layer. Rotate 90. Place to left of tag. Duplicate. Rotate 180 and place to right of tag. Repeat drop shadow on both.

-Add name and copyright and you're done!!

 ~Tube of choice. I used the artwork of Jennifer Janesko, you must have a license to use this art which you can now get HERE.

~Mask of choice. I used WSL mask 84 which you can find HERE.

~Font of choice. I used Twelve Ton Goldfish.

Let's get started!!!!!

1. Open a new layer ( I prefer a large canvas, so I make mine 1050x656). Make your canvas transparent (Layer > Transparency > Color to alpha).

2. Open Frame 4, add drop shadow (Filters > Light & Shadow > Drop Shadow).

Confetti 2
Rolled Flower 1
Discoball
Sparkler 2
Gift
Bauble

Star 3

~Some elements may need to be sized down. Using the Scale Tool in your tool box adjust pixels to desired size~

~Add drop shadow to all elements (except Confetti 2 & Sparkler 2)~

6. Open Paper 5

7. Open mask

8. Add mask to paper (click HERE for a tut on using masks).

9. Merge layers (Image > Merge Visible Layer).

10. Crop image (Image > Autocrop Image).

11. Scale image to desired size (Image > Scale Image).

12. Add copyright info and name.

13. Save as .png

Mask- 81 from weescotslass
Font- Pharmacy

-File>New 650x650 px.

-Open frame 6. Layer>Scale Layer 75%. Place frame on center of canvas. Select the fuzzy select tool (magic wand). Click inside the first frame. Select>Grow 2. Open paper 6. Move below frame layer in the layer box. Place paper in selection. Layer>Transparency>Add Alpha Channel. Select>Invert. Press delete on keyboard. Open tube. Scale 75%. Place in selection. Delete. Select>None. Change the mode to soft light. Repeat for the 3rd part of frame using paper 3. Also repeat fro the middle part of frame using paper 4, but don't add the tube. make the frame layer active, Filters>Light & Shadow>Drop Shadow 2, 2, 5, black, 50.

-Open frame 5. Make the bottom layer. Scale 75%. Place at the bottom left of tag. Layer>Duplicate Layer. Place duplicate at the top right of tag. Add paper 1 top the top right frame and paper 7 to the bottom left frame. Repeat drop shadow on both frames.

-Open tube. Make the top layer. Scale 45%. Place center of tag. Repeat drop shadow.

bow
paper flower
blood

-Open paper 5. Make the bottom layer. Apply mask. Click HERE to learn how to use masks.
