Supplies Needed:

~Gimp (any version will do).

~PTU kit called Crimson Snow by Jackie's Jewels, which you can find HERE.

 ~Tube of choice. I used the artwork of Verymany, you must have a license to use this art which you can get HERE.

~Template of choice. I used BD Christmas 2015 template 6 which you can get HERE.

~Mask of choice. I used BD 2015 Christmas mask 9 which you can get HERE.

~Font of choice. I used Amatic Bold.

Let's get started!!!

1. Open a new layer ( I prefer a large canvas, so I make mine 1050x656). Make your canvas transparent (Layer > Transparency > Color to Alpha).

2. Open template in PSD format, move layers of template around until they are the way you like them.

~Add paper from scrapkit to individual layers of the template (Right click on template layer in layer box > Alpha to Selection > CTRL I > Select paper layer in layer box > Delete).

These are the papers I used:

Paper 1
Paper 3
Paper 5
Paper 6
Paper 13

~I colorized some of the template layers to better match the scrapkit (Colors > Colorize > play with the setting until you get the desired color).

~Add drop shadow to template layers (Filters > Light & Shadow > Drop Shadow).

3. Open tube, add drop shadow.

4. Open and place the following elements:

Snow 2
Tree 1
Trees
Snowman
Flower 1
Flower 2
Snowflake 1
Snowflake 2
Star 2
Star Deco
Lantern
Package
Fox
Candle
Apple Deco
Boots
Coffee
Snowball
Pinecone

~Some of the elements may need to be sized down. Using your scale tool in your tool box adjust the pixel size until element is the correct size~

~Add drop shadow to all elements (except Snow 2)~

 5. Open Paper 4

6. Open mask

7. Add mask to paper (click HERE for a tut on using masks).
8. Merge Layers (Image > Merge Visible Layers).

9. Crop Image (Image > Autocrop Image).

10. Scale image to desired size (Image > Scale Image).

11. Add copyright info and name.

12. Save as .png

ALL DONE!!!!!!!!!!

~Font of choice. I used CAC one seventy.

Let's get started!!!!!

1. Open a new layer ( I prefer a large canvas, so I make mine 1050x656). Make your canvas transparent (Layer > Transparency > Color to alpha).

2. Open Frame 1, add drop shadow (Filters > Light & Shadow > Drop Shadow).

3. Open Paper 1, center behind frame, remove excess paper using a cutting tool or eraser.

4. Open tube, add drop shadow.

10. Crop image (Image > Autocrop Image).

PTU kit Here Comes Santa Claus from Gimptastic Scraps
Tube of choice. I am using the art of Barbara Jensen. You must have a proper license to use her tubes. Purchase them at her store HERE
Template 451 from Millie's PSP Madness
Mask 137 from Millie's PSP Madness

  -Open template. Delete credits. Image>Scale Image 550x550 px. Image>Canvas Size 650x650 px and click center.
-Let's add papers to the template layers. Make the template layer active (see below). Right click template layer in layer box and choose alpha to selection. Open paper (see below). Right click paper layer in layer box and choose add alpha channel. Select>Invert. Press delete on your keyboard. Select>None. Filters>Light & Shadow>Drop Shadow  2, 2, 5, black, 50. Delete the original template layer. Here are the template layers and which papers I used:

1- paper 9

2- paper 8
*Layer>New Layer. Change foreground color to b21c0b. Select bucket fill tool and fill selection. Select>Shrink 4. Edit>Cut. Select none. Filters>Noise RGB Noise on default settings. Repeat drop shadow.*

3- paper 4
*Add outline using bea877 (gold). Repeat the steps above.*

4- paper 3
* add outline using 126131 (green).*

5- paper 10
*Select none. Select the fuzzy select tool (magic wand) and click inside this circle. Grow 6. Open tube. Make sure tube layer is below red circle layer. Place in selection. I duplicated and place my tube at different points inside the selection. If you do this, merge (Layer>Merge Down) all tube layers together. Invert and delete. Select none. Change the mode of the tube layer to Value. Duplicate tube layer. Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur on default. Change mode to overlay and lower opacity to 40.*

6- paper 1
*Add gold outline*

7- paper 7

*Invert. Add new layer. Move new layer below current layer. Grow 1. Bucket fill with 126131. Select none. Repeat noise. Repeat drop shadow.

-Open tube. Move above the big circle layers in the layer box. Duplicate. Gaussian blur. Change mode to hard light and lower opacity to 50. Repeat drop shadow on original tube layer. I had some tube at the bottom of the tag so I erased it.

The Fantastically Free Blog Train is ready to roll, and this month our theme was Gothic Winter. We all used the same palette of black & grey, but each of us chose a color to make the kits pop. I chose purple...I hope you like!

Purchase this kit exclusively at CDO
Tube of choice. I am using the art of Ismael Rac. You must have a valid license to use his tubes. Purchase them at his store HERE.
Template 196 from me HERE
Mask 435 from Vix
Font- Mathilde

Lets begin!

  -Open template. Delete credits. Image>Canvas Size 650x650 px and click center.
-Let's add papers to the template layers. Make the template layer active (see below). Right click template layer in layer box and choose alpha to selection. Open paper (see below). Right click paper layer in layer box and choose add alpha channel. Select>Invert. Press delete on your keyboard. Select>None. Filters>Light & Shadow>Drop Shadow  2, 2, 5, black, 50. Delete the original template layer. Here are the template layers and which papers I used:
3- paper 6
4- paper 5
5- paper 3
6- paper 1
7- paper 4
8- paper 6
words 1- paper 1



Make layer 1 active and add paper 2
Select none. Grab the fuzzy select tool (magic wand). Click inside frame. Select>Grow 2. Layer>New Layer. Make sure new layer is below layer you just added paper to. Change foreground color to 0a7226. Bucket fill selection. Select>Shrink 3. Press Delete on keyboard. Grow 3. Filters>Blur>Gaussian Blur on default.

Make layer 2 active. Add paper 4 but DON'T select none. Open tube. Resize 60%. Place in selection. I duplicated mine a few times and placed in different spots inside the selection. Invert & Delete. Select none. Change mode of tube layer to overlay. Lower opacity to 35. Layer>Duplicate Layer. Gaussian Blur on default. Change mode to hard light and lower opacity to 20.

-Make words 2 active. Alpha to selection. Change foreground to ffffff. New layer. Bucket fill selection. Grow 1. Bucket fill with c30505. Select none. Repeat drop shadow.

-Open tube again. Move below the word art layers. Resize 50%. Place center of tag. Duplicate. Gaussian blur on default. Change mode to hard light and lower opacity to 35. Duplicate again and change mode to screen and lower opacity to 25. Add drop shadow to bottom tube layer.

~Mask of choice. I used BD 2015 Christmas mask 1 which you can get HERE.

~Font of choice. I used The Mocking Bird.
